1) TASK DESCRIPTION: Create a link each for: Task 1 blogpost, Task 2
blogpost and Task 3 blogpost.

Rationale
7) TASK DESCRIPTION: Write a 200-word rationale explaining/defending:
i) the decisions made in your design,
ii) the meaning/purpose of the design and
iii) the design principles that are employed to create the design.
For my final artwork, I proceeded with my third sketch idea, refining the elements and shapes in the artwork into a more realistic, Impressionistic style. I followed Monet's original colour scheme but put more focus on the Japanese bridge and the Water Lily pond.
The purpose of my artwork was to reinterpret Monet's 'The Water Lily Pond' into my own style. I felt that the original painting was too stiff and detached from nature, and decided on a composition that is more dynamic, placing perspective directly within the lily pads and nature, as if the lily pads and the viewer are one and the same. This also draws from my interpretation of Monet's work in my second task by encouraging people to not just capture the moment of fleeting nature, but live in it.
I created balance through the composition of the lily pads, and contrast through the dark bridge and the light sky. I used repetition in the repeated shapes of the lily pads as well, creating rhythm and variety through the differing sizes. The limited palette of greens, blues, and soft yellows allows for harmony between the colours and helps unify the composition, emphasising the serene atmosphere.
Final Reflection
3) TASK DESCRIPTION: Write a final reflection that responds to the
questions below:
- What have I learned in this module?
- What did I enjoy the most?
- What did I not enjoy the most?
- What have I learnt about myself through this
module?
- What has changed and what has not in my
learning journey?
- What are my aspirations?
I enjoyed designing my final artwork the most in the module, as it was fun to consider the different ways I can use the original artwork as inspiration for. I did not enjoy finalising the artwork the most, as it was difficult due to the perspective and I was also very undecided on a lot of it's elements and aspects.
I learnt that I really like using unique and interesting perspectives in my artworks, as I can exercise my creativity through them. I'm not sure if anything has changed or not in my learning journey, maybe that I realise that research about the artwork can help create a purpose for the new artwork. My aspirations are to create artworks that resonate with other people.
